Intern Serena on her Interviews for Forbidden Kingdom

We haven’t mentioned it much on the air, but I gave Intern Serena and Intern Erik their first big Interview break, when they got to interview the Director and a couple of actors in the new Jackie Chan and Jet Li flick, “Forbidden Kingdom”. Here’s Serena’s take on the day…

Thursday April 17, 2008

Well, here’s another braindead commentary from me, intern Serena.  Last Thursday intern Erik and I headed out to interview Collin Chou and Crystal Liu from the new Jackie Chan and Jet Li film The Forbidden Kingdom, which by the way is being released in theaters this Friday April 18th!  I definitely would recommend this film to all you Alice movie goers!  But back to the interviews.  Erik and I got the clear go ahead for these interviews about 10am that very morning.  I had originally thought that my interview questions were going to be given to me, so I was lazy and didn’t write any questions prior to that very morning.  After I got the call that I would be doing the interview, I hopped my lazy ass into the shower.  As I showered I thought up a few sly interview questions, then I jammed over to the hotel downtown.  As I walked up one of the steepest San Francisco hills you could imagine (in my 3 inch heels of course) I began to get all flustered and sweaty thinking I wasn’t going to make the interview.  Erik had done the first interview earlier that day, and we were supposed to do the second together.  As soon as I got into the room Erik let me in on the fact that our interviews were not going to be done on our audio only equipment as we had planned, but we were going to do filmed interviews.  Okay, now I almost crapped my pants!  I was hot, sweaty, and I had basically no make up on, and now I was going to interview two famous Chinese actors on video!  Not to mention that this was my first interview ever in my life!  Not long after I walked in, the girl came up to Erik and I and said that they were ready for us, but only one of us could do the interview!  Well, luckily a guy wanted to go before me, so that bought me a little time.  Erik and I decided that my Boxers or Briefs question was a great one, so that was definitely in.  Erik was even nice enough to give me one of his own questions.  Of course it turned out to be a dud with the two actors!  So did my boxers and briefs question.  They had no clue what boxers or briefs meant, so I had to explain it only for Collin Chou to tell me that I would have to go to his room if I wanted to find out!  OMG!  Anywho, my legs were shaking throughout the entire interview.  At first I didn’t know which camera or direction to look in.  I felt so awkward!  Well, to sum it all up, I lived through it!  I couldn’t believe it.  After that I walked back down that crazy hill and I decided to take those damned 3 inch heels off and walk barefooted.  Just another happy crazy day at Alice!  :)
